SCIENCE,
MASTER'S AND DOCTOR'S DEGREE DEPARTMENT
The main task for the University's
development is a balanced combination of educational
and scientific-research activity and training specialists
who meet market requirements based on the latest achievements
in information technologies and economic innovations. The
scientific activity of our University aims at research into
theoretical, methodological and applied economic problems
during transition to a market economy.
The main scientific-research theme of the University for 2006-2008
is Problems of the Kyrgyz Republic's economic growth, in the
design of which more than 100 teachers and employees, including
10 Doctors and 34 candidates of sciences and post-graduate
students and candidates, were involved.
There are about 40 students doing postgraduate and doctor's
studies and 14 candidates, including 4 candidates from Mongolia.
The teaching staff actively participates in various projects
and in 2006 grants have been won for projects implemented
by Kyrgyzpatent and the KR Ministry of Education, Science
and Youth Policy:
State programme for forming and developing a National Innovative
System of the Kyrgyz Republicfor2006-2010: - Study
of priority clusters in innovative economics of the Kyrgyz
Republic;
- State regulation of the production, processing and sale
of agricultural products in the Chui zone.
Currently, there is an Inter-departmental Council for the
defence of doctors' and candidates' dissertations in the university
and a Scientific-research institute of innovative economics.
KEU is now concentrating the efforts and resources, best scientists
and teachers, coordinating teaching-methodological and scientific-research
work in HEIs of the Republic into training of economists.
JOB PLACEMENT
STUDENT
In the opinion of employers graduates of KEU
are well able to implement in practice their theoretical knowledge
and skills obtained during their years of studying. Businesses
and organizations willingly employ our graduates and even
under-graduates, since many of them meet employers' high standards.
This is proven by the letters of gratitude and requests from
heads of companies, firms and state institutions to send our
students to work on internships.
Here are some of the businesses and organi-zations
where KEU graduates work: National Bank, JSB Kyrgyzstan, KRSK,
Dos-CredoBank, Investbak Issyk-Kul, JSC Kyrgyzaltyn, SJSC
Kyrgyztelecom, JSC Bakai, JSC Wimm-Bill-Dann, JSC Tattuu,
JSC Reemtsmaa Kyrgyzstan Inc., CJSC Shoro, CJSC Coca-Cola
Bishkek Bottlers, LLC Dasmia, Oil company Alliance, JSC Azamat
Oil Corporation, ZUM, Beta Stores, FEZ Bishkek, Pinara and
Hyatt hotels, Baisuu, Son-Kol and Golden Dragon restaurants,
Ministry of Finance, Audit Chamber, Bitel and Katel and the
KR Social Fund.
Regular monitoring shows that the majority
of our graduates find jobs immediately after graduation, mainly
those qualified as managers, economists, accountants, financiers,
techno¬logists and commodity experts.
KEU has started offering training in a number
of new professions, unfamiliar to the majority of the population
but in demand in the labour market and increasingly important
to the nation's economy.
They are: management of organisations,
marketing, logistics, crisis management, insurance etc. For
example, many people underestimate the importance of marketing
as a development tool in various spheres of the economy. In
highly developed countries marketing has already become one
of the leading spheres of a modern economy.
STUDENT LIFE
Student life here at BSUEB is varied and full
of different social and cultural events and is never boring.
Competitions, concerts, Happy Resourceful People's club (KVN),
meetings with interesting people, themed evenings, sports
events etc. are all part of University life. BSUEB students
have a reputation for being good stage managers and performers
of interesting entertainment programmes and shows.
It has become a good tradition to hold
a memorial service for students annually, have autumn balls,
celebrate New Year, Christmas, St. Valentine's Day, Graduation
Ball, Youth Day, Students'Day etc.
Important decisions about the University are
taken with the participation of the students. BSUEB has its
own Students' Parliament a unique form of self-government
where one can develop leadership skills and become an organizer.
There is also a debating club that attracts more and more
students each year.
In our University there is a working principle:
student + teacher = equal partnership. All problems are solved
together and the basis of all activity is academic honesty
and conscientiousness.
Students are able to fully develop their talents
and abilities in the University. There are folklore and dance
groups and our students participate in various festivals and
competitions.
A market economy needs people who can
think creatively, take decisions independently, take responsibility
for their decisions and be team leaders.
The main forms of students scientific-research
work are:
- executing scientific-research works;
- preparing presentations for scientific seminars, roundtables
and conferences;
- participating in Olympiads;
- participating in competitions on course and degree projects
and works;
- participating in Republican scientific competitions;
- publishing articles in the Vestnik KEU magazine.
Internships in foreign HEI. Students who lean
towards scientific research and daring, Olympiad winners,
winners of competitions for best course or degree projects
or works and winners of Republican students' scientific competitions
have first priority for post¬graduate studies.
Results of SRW are discussed in students'
groups, sub-faculties, and faculties. Degrees, prizes, scholarships
and thanks are given to talented students. |
