RUSSIAN STATE TRADE-ECONOMIC UNIVERSITY
The Bishkek Branch of the RSTEU was founded
based on an intergovernmental agreement between Kyrgyzstan
and Russia in 2002.

The Branch was officially opened on October
22nd 2003, during the first Kyrgyzstan - Russia Investment
Forum. The General Secretary of EurAsEU G.A. Rapota, Rector
of RSTEU, Pro-fessor Baburin S.N., Ambassador extraordinary
and plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan
E.A. Shmagin, Deputy Head of the Integration Committee Department
of EurAsEU K.A. Ajekbarov and others attended the opening.
153 students, including 80 day students and
73 correspondence (external) students, are currently studying
here and there are 25 teachers, 10 with the academic status
of candidates of sciences.
The education in Marketing and Commerce (commerce)
is based on teaching plans and flexible timetables.
The Branch else young so in scholastic process
are used methodical material, got from main high school. The
Teachers of the branch work on creation scholastic-methodical
complex on general and special subject.
The student senate acts In branch. Became
the tradition to conduct the initiation a freshman in students
(on initiation in 2003 was present the rector RSTEU S.N. Baburin);
the meetings of the club of debats; the professional work
on region; the new year's holidays.

, creation corresponding to pulpits, renewing the own library
fund.
COLLEGE
The School College Institute of Higher Education
integrated programme has been carried out in the University
since 1996 and this experiment in the educational services
market has expanded and strengthened in recent years, as has
the secondary professional education programme.

There are more than 15 excellent lecturers,
scientists and honoured workers in commerce. Students who
go on to study at the University continue the College's traditions
and the best graduates do Master's and post-graduate course.
The two buildings have lecture rooms, confe¬rence halls, an
assembly hall with a large stage, a computer-information centre,
laboratories and departments.
After finishing nine years at secondary school the College's
prospective students enter their first year of studies in
the Lyceum and during the first academic year they study the
secondary school programme. After that they spend their second
year at the College studying their specialty.
Over 10,000 of our students have found jobs
in restaurants, cafes, hotels, trading enterprises, financial
institutions, state tax inspectorates, banks, and small and
medium size enterprises.
Our students are oriented on their future profession not only
during theirstudies but also during their intern ships. This
approach to working out standard professional skills and forming
students' personal strengths in turn, teaches diligence, initiative
and creativity. That is why graduates in specialty #2711,
Public Food Products Technology are much in demand and are
working successfully in commerce and food enterprises, restaurants
and hotels, both at home and abroad.
We plan to create a modern technological laboratory in the
College where we will hold master classes for the College's
graduates in cooking national and foreign dishes and invite
the best cookery experts and confectioners on experience exchanges
and, most importantly, we will be contributing to supporting
and improving the hospitality specialty.
The introduction of state educational standards
for secondary professional education on service specialties
in the College has improved the quality of training for specialists
in the College.
Our multi-profiled College considers
the quality of training people as its main task and the demand
for our graduates in the domestic labour market constantly
persuades us that we have chosen the right direction for uninterrupted
education.
LYCEUM
The Lyceum for secondary educational and pre-higher
institutional training is part of the University and carries
out its activities based upon the Regulation on Lyceums for
Secondary Educational and Pre-higher Institutional Training.
The Lyceum's rating increases from year to
year and the quality of teachers also keeps on improving.
In the 2002-2003 academic year, out of 35 teachers, 10 were
highest category teachers, two were excellent workers of the
Kyrgyz Republic in education, four were competitors for this
high rank and one teacher was a post-graduate student but
in the 2005-2006 academic year, out of 35 teachers, 18 were
highest category teachers, four were excellent workers of
the Kyrgyz Republic in education and two were post-graduate
students.
The Lyceum's teachers actively use interac-tive
forms and methods of teaching, use inte-resting situations
when explaining new subjects, test students' knowledge, have
quizzes etc.
New methods of teaching and modern interactive methods are
discussed at organized seminars and training sessions.
Teachers' qualifications play an important
role in providing high quality teaching. To improve these
qualifications, special courses are used in the KEU. There
is a methodological room that helps with creative work, self-education,
and improving teachers' professionalism.
A modular-rating system of teaching has been
introduced in the Lyceum to show students their readiness
to learn a subject and a teacher can find out at what level
he or she will have to work with each individual student.
Outside interests have been developed and
the Lyceum members have been very successful in sports and
creative competitions and festivals and the Happy and Resourceful
People's Club has been set up. We support communications with
students' parents and there is a Parents' Committee, which
has set up the Rising Star public fund to provide assistance
to the Lyceum.
INSTITUTE
OF THE OPEN DISTANCE EDUCATION
IODE KEU organizes
study on programmes of transparent educational line «secondary
professional - higher education, second higher education»,
provided distance education. Youth has a possibility to begin
study on any level and to get corresponding document on education,
to acquire practical experience and then to resume study on
the secondary or higher professional education. Programmes
of distance learning contribute to the reduction of apprenticeship
and costs on training specialist, but in the process of study
form complex, integrated approach to the knowledge.
Goal of distance education system: Reference point on integrated
development of the person as individual during all his life,
on increasing possibilities of his labor and social adaptation
in quickly changing world. Reference for forestalling of the
society development, for the growth of the professional career.
Mission of open distance education institute: Professional
educational programmes are aimed on training specialists of
corresponding qualification, on formation of skills and abilities,
on widening of knowledge and raising the level of skill by
consistent use of general education and professional levels
of education.
Methodological reference of Open Distance Education Institute’s
activity in the field of higher education is the comprehension
of professional economical education in distance and consistent
specialized training of specialists in the field of economy.
Distant learning provides the following possibilities:

- Adaptability in conditions of structural changes of the
economy;
- Free joining to the business undertaking;
- High competitiveness of the employee.
Distance technology of study is set on principles:
- Education availability for the most wide range of consumers;

technologies and at the same time new informational, telecommunication
and technical means;

After restructuring the economy of Kyrgyzstan in the sphere
of the material production disappeared more than two third
of former professions, and nowadays there are many requirements
to the specialists according to their professional quality.
Therefore many people aspire to change their profession to
more actual one according to its prestigiousness and yield,
that is to become professional mobile.
Thus Institute of Open Distance Education offers equal subsystems
of the education – retraining and raising level of skills
( on the base of secondary professional education -3.5 years)
and additional higher education ( on the base of higher education
2.5 years).
Perspective trends of the educational activity of institute
is to get additional education, raising level of skills and
professional training of adults in the framework of conception
“Training during the whole life” Professional teaching of
adults will give opportunity to train for a new profession
and to get additional professional skills that will help to
find a job, to start and develop own business
