The Kyrgyz Economic University (KEU) is the only specialized state multilevel economical higher educational institute (HEI) in Kyrgyzstan that meets the conditions and requirements of the market.

The EM ECW is a co-operation and mobility scheme in the area of higher education co-operation launched by Europe Aid cooperation Office and implemented by the Executive Agency Education, Audiovisual and Culture.

The Erasmus Mundus External Co-operation Window (EM ECW) objective is to achieve better understanding and mutual enrichment between the European Union and third countries co-operation in the field of higher education through promoting the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills at higher education level. This will be achieved through the promotion of partnerships and institutional co-operation exchanges between European Higher Education Institutions and Third Country institutions and a mobility scheme addressing student and academic exchanges.

More specifically, the EM ECW aims:
To enhance the international co-operation capacity of universities in third countries;
To promote co-operation between sending and hosting institutions;
To enable students to benefit linguistically, culturally and educationally from the experience of pursuing academic studies in another country, and to promote EU values;
To improve the transparency and recognition of studies and qualifications, in particular building on the "acquis" and achievements gained of the Bologna process in this area;
To provide good students from vulnerable groups with higher education;
To enhance the skills and qualifications of foreign higher education staff so that they can contribute actively towards improvement of quality;
To build the capacity of the administration and public and private sector by participation of their staff in higher education mobility activities (especially through doctorate and post-doctorate activities);
To enhance in the medium term the political, cultural, educational and economical links between the European Union and Third-countries;

Welcome to Erasmus Mundus External Cooperation Window Lot 9

The Erasmus Mundus EC Lot 9 project brings together European and Central Asian universities.  Through a mobility scheme accepted by the European Commission the partners will start up a virtual campus, from the academic year 2007 - 2008 on.  Bachelor and Master students, doctoral and post-doctoral students, teaching staff will will spend a period of study or research in one of the European member states or in one of the particpating Central Asian countries (Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan).
The project wants to support Central Asia in the "Development Cooperation and Economic Cooperation Instrument" of the EU, by fostering a better understanding of each other's culture and society in an active way.  
With the support of the Compostela Group of Universities (http://www.grupocompostela.org/ingles/home.php) and the Network of the Universities from the Capitals of Europe (http://www.ulb.ac.be/unica/).

Erasmus Mundus “Window of External Cooperation” EM ECW

International Department of the Kyrgyz Economical University informs that in 2007 last year European Commission recognized the winners of the Erasmus Mundus ECW lot9 project and our consortium at the head of Erasmushogeschool (Belgium) and on the nine lot was nominated our consortium. The goal of the project is:

The work on providing of academic exchange between partners from Europe and Central Asia on programmes for undergraduates, masters, Phd, post-doctorates and teaching-staff.
Period of the mobility – from 3 till 34 months. Mobility will go on scheme Europe to the Central Asia and vise versa.   
Planned activities:
1. Organization of students’ mobility
2. To develop mutual cooperation
3. Experience exchange
4. Achievement of results and stability of joint activities.

What have been done for this period in KEU:

BA programme (1 year). In 2007 on the base of competition have been sent 3 students: Almanbetov Samat – Vilnius University (Lithuania), Israilov Radjiv – Erasmus Higher School (Belgium), Ziazov Ruslan – University Santiago De Compostella (Spain).  
In 2008 have been sent 2 students: Chaibekova Nazira – University of Santiago De Compostella (Spain), Esenamanova Saykal – Vilnius University (Lithuania).

MA programme (1 year) In 2007 have been sent 2 students: Japarova Indira – Vilnius University, Imanbaeva Jazgul – Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences (Finland).
In 2008 have been sent 1 student: Jumaliev Erkin – Anadolu University (Turkey)
In 2007 on scientific and pedagogical researches have been sent Berdibaeva Kaken – University of Santiago De Compostela, Spain;   Ajibekov Bilim – Vilnius University, Lithuania; Kamchybekov Tolobek – Anadolu University, Turkey; Osmonova Jazgulya – Anadolu University, Turkey.
In 2008 will be sent: Kadyraliev Almaz, Mazaryk University, Czech Republic; Mina Ubalievna, Isabekova Bubuanar – Anadolu University, Turkey.

Perspectives:

The second phase of this project foreseen the use of on-line in selection of candidates. Geography of our partners is extended: now 3 universities of Turkmenistan are included.
Requirements for the participation in this programme:

  1. Knowledge of English, or French, the Flemish language, The Finnish, Czech, Spanish, Lithuanian, Polish, Turkish on high academic level;
  2. To have merit ahead of our university;
  3. Stainless reputation and good recomendations;
  4. Good progress in study;
  5. To perform scientific activity;
  6. To have scientific degree (defense of research work in 2006-2008) for post-doctorate programme.
